Veterinarian’s Choice is a company that was formed by two individuals who have devoted their lives to promoting health and safety for others.

Mark is a prominent veterinarian who has been in practice for 37 years in the suburbs east of Cleveland, Ohio. He was a past president of the Cleveland Academy of Veterinary Medicine and has made numerous television appearances on NBC News discussing pet health issues. He is passionate about improving the quality of animal health as well as improving the health and safety of the people who share their homes with their pets.

Veterinarians are problem solvers. Because their patients cannot talk to them, veterinarians need to be “detectives’, extracting pertinent information from their owners. Combining that information with the pets’ symptoms, they create a plan to help solve their patients’ problems.

Throughout his adult life, Mark shared his home with at least 5 cats. He now has 6 cats and 1 dog. He has always preferred scoopable cat litter because of its ease of use in helping to remove the appropriate waste as well as its ability to keep the liter box clean and healthy for his cats. He continues to recommend its use to his clients. For many years, however, Mark has been concerned about a problem that he could not solve: how to reduce the amount of billowing dust created during the scooping process. He has always felt it to be an irritant to his eyes, nose, throat and lungs. He has tasted the dust in his mouth and his clothes have picked up its odor. As the dust settled in the room, it collected on surfaces in the area where the scooping was being performed. Mark knew that there was a problem, but the solution evaded him.

In 2005, Mark mentioned the unresolved problem to his friend Mel. Mel is an internationally renowned chemist and inventor with more than thirty patents to his credit and decades of experience in product development. Wherever Mel goes, whatever he sees, he always thinks “there must be a better way”.

For many years, Mel was an executive with a company whose mission was to create innovative products designed to improve the everyday lives of others. For the past 12 years, he has been the president of a company that produces various forms of safety equipment, promoting health and safety for workers globally.

These 2 experts were a perfect match: a veterinarian with an unresolved medical problem and an inventor whose life is dedicated to improving the way things are done.
